Sacrifice.

What are you willing to sacrifice for your happiness? Are you ready to take the challenge of the universe? Some of the things to think about this long weekend. I hope we get to meditate on more important things. Let's utilize the time to know ourselves more, to find ways on how we can be thankful for what we have now. Have a safe long weekend guys!

RAoK.

Random act of kindness. I firmly believe in the concept of pay it forward. I hope and pray that it will be a movement we would choose everyday. I started the day in an awfully way. But it changed dramatically. Thanks to the little things I spend on: lipstick and veggie smoothie. I totally let go of what happened after applying my lipstick. I hope we can all find little things to make us happy and blessed.

(Short but sweet. <3)

PS: Thank you Paowee for your random act of kindness today. (Hooray for my free banana bread!) (: Congratulations!

What Keeps Me Full These Days

Rawlicious
This drink right here is down right amazing. I especially like it "semi-frozen." I like the feeling of nibbling blended (ice)vegetables. The texture is pretty chunky. Don't be fooled by the color. Don't shun it. It's gonna give you a different kind of energy. It screams good vibes, actually. This specific drink has celery, apple, banana, spinach, romaine lettuce and talbos! It's definitely a healthy meal in bottle. I hope you guys can give it a try. (:

The Pictures that I Owe. (:

I'm currently lusting on this pair as I type. (:

Compare. Her shiny and spankin' pink pair and my old and rusty but filled with awesome adventures green pair.

Vegan Caesar (P100)

Leche Flan (P75)

I'd ditch Coke (and probably milk tea) for this. <3 A&W cream soda (P40)

Rawlicious smoothies (P105 each)

The color often scares people but when you get to taste it, you'll like it. I'm certain. (: Thanks Rawlicious!

Food entry.

Okay, this is crazy. I'm gonna be talking about food. My favorite. Hmmmm!

I was famished after a long day at work yesterday. I decided to check my Twitter. Lo and behold, Pedeli replied to my tweet to my DJ friends! (Hey Neil and Scarlet! *grins*) It was a tweet from long ago, okay, not that long. It made me decide to grab food there before heading to Shangrila.

I walked to Pedeli's from the office. It's pretty near, about 10 minutes away. I hurriedly went inside the building. without asking the guard where it is exactly. Yes, I got lost in the building's little labyrinth. Fortunately, I saw someone who works there.

I met Eboy there, and eventually Peter too. We had a long talk! It was purely good times. I had vegan caesar salad, leche flan and A&W cream soda all for a very friendly price of P215. (Pictures to follow, I can't find my usb cable.) I specifically like the dressing of the salad. It has the right texture and creaminess. I seriously can't wait to go back.

I'm thrilled to share that  meeting other people makes me know myself more. Eboy and I talked about why and how I became a vegetarian. I appreciate practicality. I appreciate my decisions more.

By the way, *scratches head* I get really star struck when I meet celebrities. I think I blushed last night when I met Eboy. He was part of the Pinoy edition of The Biggest Loser! I am really proud of his story. I hope he continues his path to healthy living. Kudos, bro!

One more thing, before I left the office, I saw a girl wearing neon pink Dr. Martens. I just had to take a photo. Again, I'll upload it soon. Wee!

On a serious note, when we just choose to be happy with the simple things around us, we get contented. You don't lose the will to go on and move forward though, because you just do it. I hope we all find contentment everyday, so that before we close our eyes to sleep, we can gratify the universe for a lovely day - no matter what happened.

Cheers to happiness!

Worth.

The service yesterday reminded me of my worth, my stand in my relationship, and the stand of women in general. I appreciate how the universe is teaching me how to submit to men (specifically to my partner) intelligently. My feminist friends may claim that what I'm saying completely opposes what they are fighting for but come to think of it, there's truth in it. I think. We're given freewill and intellect to decide, yes. But we're also given a meek and submissive side. This may not work for everyone but it feels good to be pursued by a man who knows your worth and eventually submit to him - not because the world or your religion says it's right. But because it's what your heart is saying.

Women, if you're in a relationship wherein your partner treats you less than how you're supposed to be treated, let's talk. Don't end the relationship right away. Who knows? You still might be able to save it. (: But in general, if anyone else (man or woman) is trying to make you feel less than your worth, just believe in the power and the bigness that is (already) you. When you start believing, it will just radiate and people will start giving you the respect, and love, and all things happy (and sparkly) that you deserve.

Yes, I may not have enjoyed Peter Pan that much but the story that J.M. Barrie will always be in my head. Believing in something can and may save a life. (whispers: "I do believe in fairies!") Know your worth. Trials will come but who says you're on your battle alone? The whole universe is with you. Smile.

So how was your weekend? (:

Healthy > Beauty

What does it take to be healthy? How does beauty equate in being healthy? What are you willing to do to be considered beautiful? What are you willing to do to be healthy? This is a concern I want to raise to everyone. Why do people have to suffer for the sake of being accepted? Wouldn't the world be a happier one if we just forget about judging other people?

This is a challenge for everyone, yes, myself included. (I'd probably top the list if it does exists.) If we are serious in making this place a peaceful one, then we must lessen (or stop) judging others. Everyone has and has been judged. Be complete. Let today be a forgive and forget Friday. Let go, let God.

Thank you guys for reading! Happy weekend! Oooh, November 07 is a holiday! Well, in the Philippines, it is!

Keep on loving love, and please, keep positivity coming. <3<3

Blessing.

This is such a sad video but I hope you stick watching it 'til the end.

Watching this video made me think about my Chinese history, which isn't much since I was born and raised in the Philippines. What if my grandfather didn't leave China? What if he decided to stay there and just be with his wife? What would become of us? Will my two aunts be born? I am privileged that my Dad is a first son, but I don't think I can fathom my grandfather abandoning my aunts because they're girls. And looking at it, my Dad would feel insanely blessed after having my brother, and they wouldn't opt to have another child, or children, in our case. It's sad but it also makes me grounded and humbled. It reminds me that I am already thankful for the gift of life and whatever that may come with it are just huge perks of living. I may complain and cuss, I know, but it's a journey I'd like to share with everyone.

I wasn't expecting that this will be my welcome entry as I share this blog to everyone. My sole prayer is that it reaches the people it's supposed to reach on the time they need an uplift most.

Happy reading everyone! Keep on loving love.

"The less you have, the more you value it."

Value what (and who) you have while you still have them, and they are still with you. Let's not live a life not knowing the worth of things and people around us. Life is too short to be wasted hating circumstances that are coming our way. I hope we all can walk hand in hand as we choose to love now - who we are, where we are and what we have.

Keep on loving love, sweethearts.

Reward

The word "choose" is seriously overpowering my day. And I'm loving it every single time. I choose to turn the wheel upside-down and smile about everything. I'm pretty confident because I know I'm getting stuff later. (:

In line with this, what to you do to reward yourself? Do you go to a spa? Do you shop? Whatever it is, no matter how small it is, enjoy it. Don't let other people dictate your happiness. Maintain the Peter Pan in you. I'm pretty sure that there's one there somewhere.

So whether it's a lipstick, or a bag, or a knife, go for it. Enjoy it. You deserve it. (:

Christmas!

I am a Christmas fan. If it were just up to me, it will officially be Christmas everyday. (: Look what I found! People in the Philippines, check this one out and do something. We can all give love this Christmas season. (I just hope it will not end there!)

Sending them an e-mail now. Let's go guys!

Weekend!

Hello, hello loves! <3

It's a Monday! And you know very well what Monday means to me. October is the vegetarian month! If you can't pledge to be a vegetarian for 30 days, you can always go meatless every Monday! Do it for yourself, for the animals, for the environment or for all of these!

Going meatless, for me, made me know myself more. It made me realize the bigness in me; that I can do things as long as I put my mind to it. It reminded me of discipline and perseverance. And basically, love for myself and for my body.

Try going meatless for a month, I'm pretty sure you won't regret its liberating feel!

Congratulations to the Polecats for the success of Polarity! May you continue spreading love though pole dancing. Continue pushing people to defy gravity. <3<3
By the way, I'd love to hear about your weekend! Message me!

Thank you, universe.

I had a lot of ideas about today's short article. But I've allowed myself to be succumbed by negativity. I apologize. Upon making it to the office, I just proclaimed that I'm gonna be fine and that I'll let go of everything. A long series of bad things tried to pull me down but streaks of happiness started popping here, there and everywhere.

Chloe, a nurse, just sent me an SMS that she has just signed a contract with PGH, her dream hospital.

Clare, my seatmate, showed me this.

One more thing, my veggie smoothies from Rawlicious are coming this afternoon! I'm psyched. Thank you, Joana!

The universe has a different way to play. Just have an open mind, a child-like spirit, and be ready to play. (:
Happy weekend, friend. Remember, #KPC!

Dogs can seriously be anyone or anything's best friend.

If we can all be like the 2nd dog, the world will be a happier place. (:

How sweet is this? Let's be sensitive to people and animals around us. Let's make our world safer everyday.

Acknowledge.

I know, I know. You've been studying or working very hard. You pour hours on something people don't even notice. It hurts, or bothers, or frustrates you. It's okay. I understand. This is one topic that's very dear to me. I learned the power of acknowledgment in the teaching trainings at My Masterpiece Movement (http://www.welovemymasterpiece.com/), it melts my heart whenever I get to do this activity so I want to share it with all of you.

What do you want to be acknowledged for?

It may be small, it might be big; may it be as little as ironing your clothes, or applying moisturizer to as big as saving a life in the ER. Let me know how you feel and I will acknowledge you. You deserve the "thank you" from the universe and from society. I may not know you you personally, but a simple act of gratitude to strangers will bring a smile to you and me. Do me a favor by letting me acknowledge the bigness in you.

Be intentional in the small impulsive ways of making others feel special.

You may comment, or message me, or send me an SMS (if you personally know me). Don't be shy. You deserve it. (:

Grateful.

Last night, I've asked some of my friends about simple things they are thankful for. I have received the staple answers like good health, the gift of life, complete limbs, work, positivity, food, love of family and friends to practical ones like the internet and breakfast. I am not complaining. I've gotten what I've asked for. With this kind of question, there's no right or wrong answer. There's just one thing missing. And that, for me, is the thing I am thankful for. I'm going to share it to everyone when I am ready.

But for now, if I were to answer that I'd say I am grateful for the people I encounter everyday. They make me want to move forward with my advocacy. I have also been reminded to put a huge element of fun in everything I do, not just for me, but for the people around me.

Here are some of the replies that I have gotten:

"I am thankful for the supportive people around me. They are the ones who give me strength to continue doing what I do." -Karen, medical student

"(I'm) thankful for spontaneity. Most of the good things come unexpectedly." -Chloe, registered nurse

"The smile on the cute barista's face when I get a cup of coffee." -Anjo, student

Big things, small things, I hope we can find something to be thankful for. Let's celebrate the gift of life together and be in the attitude of gratefulness all the time.

Food for the body, mind and soul.

Feed not just the body, but the mind and the soul as well.

I seriously think we all don't have to be this person to make a difference. (It'll be great though if we have the means and/or will power to be like him!) We can always start with what we have and build from it. Life is a gift not just given to us but given to everyone. Let's make the lives of others fun, if not just bearable. Find ways to make a dent to someone's life everyday. Make sure that you are intentional with everything you do or say.

Continue being a blessing!

What are you thankful for today?

Did you see a flower bloom?
Did you see cute kittens on your way to school or work?
Did you see an old friend?
Did you discover something new?

The day isn't done yet!

What are you thankful for today? I hope that everyday we all find something to be thankful for. It may be a challenge for all of us, but come on. Let's pay it forward. (: Our universe will be grateful. Continue being a blessing! We only have one life to live. Let's live it filled with peace, joy, gratitude and love.

This illustration in a Mercedes Benz ad (of all things) really nailed the right-brain/ left-brain functions in this visually exciting illustration! The ad copy reads:

(Left:) "I am the left brain. I am a scientist. A mathematician. I love the familiar. I categorize. I am accurate. Linear. Analytical. Strategic. I am practical. Always in control. A master of words and language. Realis...tic. I calculate equations and play with numbers. I am order. I am logic. I know exactly who I am."

(Right:) "I am the right brain. I am creativity. A free spirit. I am passion. Yearning. Sensuality. I am the sound of roaring laughter. I am taste. The feeling of sand beneath bare feet. I am movement. Vivid colors. I am the urge to paint on an empty canvas. I am boundless imagination. Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel. I am everything I wanted to be."

Art by Linda Meyer Browning

Right brain, left brain.

Be complete with what you have. You're blessed with that for a purpose. Make good use of it.

"Stay hungry, stay foolish."

I know people have been reposting this since the untimely death of Steve Jobs. But I'm just being reminded of how we (young ones) should look at life. Yes, it's short. Yes, we should have fun. But life is more than that. Let me share something that I've read in my friend's Twitter account. It says: Surrender your cares not your responsibilities. I hope it makes sense to you as it does to me.

Weekend!!

How was everyone's weekend? I hope yours was great. During the weekend, I've drowned myself with V8 and more Rawlicious smoothie. Thank you everyone for supporting me and my choices.

Today's yoga practice was light. My intention is very clear. I just needed clarity. And the universe is just as generous as I want it to be. I hope and pray that I would be given clarity that will be enough to be shared and to last the whole week. Have a happy Monday everyone!

Don't let the universe decide for you. Make bold choices and stand up for them. (:
